What's In My Bag (Part 1)

Hello!

Today's post features what I keep in my bag during the school semester. I love these kinds of post because I get so many novel ideas about things to keep that may be come in handy or downsize what I already keep. My current bag is the Chloé "Marcie." I ADORE this bag because it's neutral (yet, it still provides a pop of color), roomy, and versatile bag. It fits all my essentials and more! Now, without further ado, here's what I keep in my bag:

1) Wallet: I like larger wallets because I tend to keep all my receipts and cards with me at all times in the case that I need them. This one is perfect because it has ample card slots and pockets!

2) Cosmetic bag: In here, I keep my favorite touch up powder, hand cream, lip products I'm using lately, and hand sanitizer. I also keep an essential oil blend that gives me energy throughout the day. I just mix it with my hand cream and rub it in!

3) Sunglasses: These subtle cat-eye ones are my favorite!

4) Earphones: In the case that I'm studying by myself, I like to have some earphones to keep out the noise and listen to some music.

5) iPhone

6) Portable battery: My phone has my entire life in it. My schedule varies daily and it is loaded onto my calendar. Needless to say, my phone is always in need of a charge. Having a portable charger is great when I can't get to a port.

7) Keys: obviously...

8) iPad Mini: This size is perfect for me because it fits in my white coat pocket while still being large enough to take notes on.

9) Pouch: I use the cutest little pouch to keep all of my gift cards, store credits, and punch cards in. Again, I like to have everything I may need with me.

10) Random things: Pens, stylus, badge, and pepper spray (lol!). Aaron got me my pepper spray at the beginning of college and thank goodness it hasn't needed to be used yet.

Shades of Blue

 Hello, Tuesday!

Last week was beyond hectic with my first week back to school and my TA job, but I think I'm starting to get a hang of the new schedule. One thing I realized, however, is I'm definitely more of a Monday person. How weird is that? I have so much more motivation and positive energy for the week ahead in the beginning of the week. Once I reach Tuesday and Wednesday... it's all about making it to the weekend. ;)

I wore this look for a surprise party for a wonderful friend this weekend. I was actually able to keep the surprise given that I see her every single day! This look features one of my all time favorite combinations. For this outfit, I mixed a formal high-low top with some comfy distressed jeans. I accessorized with a statement necklace, black pumps, and a neutral bag. If I wanted a pop of color instead, I would have added a more spunky, bright, and loud purse! Today, however, I was loving the beauty of neutrals. I think the best thing about this look is how put together you can look with a minimal number of items.

Perfect for when your life becomes surprisingly hectic, am I right?

Ari

Things We're Loving

Happy Tuesday!

We recently discovered a website called Dress Link, and it is full of wonderful steals for this season. Every girl deserves the ocassional splurge. We strongly believe in that! That classic purse, pair of nice jeans, nice makeup, or special piece of jewelry that you've been wanting... GET IT. You deserve it!

To balance out those splurges, it's always fun to find steals. This website features cute, inexpensive items so you can keep up with new trends without breaking the bank. We love navy any time of the year but are especially loving it for fall! This dress is the perfect fall transition dress when paired with  booties and a felt hat! Also, this purse is such a good deal and looks similar to the (way more expensive) one that's super in right now!

Ladylike Lace

I hope your week is going well!

When I saw this dress and its pink, crochet-y gorgeousness, I had to have it! It is SO me. It was the perfect dress for my White Coat ceremony! I paired it with classic nude pumps and an old favorite bag. I think looks like this are so simple (only 3 pieces) but they make such an impact and make you look put together. The dress portion of my closet has grown so much in the past few years as my style has developed and now, if I could only wear one type of clothing all my life, it would have to be dresses!

Sequin Shorts

My favorite thing about this look are these darling shorts! For me, it's always been difficult to find the perfect fit, length, and style of shorts. Anyone else?? That is percisely why I love love love dresses and skirts. However, these shorts have EVERYTHING I want. I love the print, how they fit, and that they can be styled dressy or casually. It's a win-win-win if you ask me.

I wore this outfit for a coffee date with one of my closest friends. Well, lets be honest... We also got dessert. I mean, you can't go wrong with a pastries, coffee, and girl time. Now that school is about to start, I'm trying to soak up every second left of summer. It's been a hectic one, to say the least, but I'm ready to get started with another semester at school!

Recap: Paris

I'm coming at you with a recap of the first city we visited on our recent Europe trip. We had never  been to Paris but I had some very high expectations. Even still, I LOVED everything about the place! The beautiful architecture, the revolutionary fashion, the history and of course the food! The macarons, baguettes, croissants, and crepes... I'm getting hungry just thinking about it, haha.

The architecture is gorgeous. Every building has so much character! The windowsills are adorned with flowers and the doors are all unique and beautiful. We spent our days there wandering and discovering the beauty of the city. We saw the Arc de Triomphe and the Notre Dame Cathedral, both of which were so grand and jaw-dropping! The Pont de Arts "love lock" bridge and the Eiffel tower were so romantic. My favorite part, though, was aimlessly walking by Le Seine, sitting in the Tuileries Garden, popping into random bakeries to grab a croissant, and drinking Rosé while watching the rain. Paris was everything I expected it to be and more. I can't wait to go back!

Getting my first Chanel at THE Chanel boutique was an unforgettable experience! This was the actual apartment of Coco Chanel at one point!

This garden was a hidden gem. GORGEOUS.

Crepes and a view!

Baguettes in front of the Notre Dame... is there anything better?

My windowsill would look something like this. ;)

Romping Around

Happy Monday! Hope you all had a fabulous weekend!

I spent this weekend studying, running errands, eating, and tried out a local brewery. NM has so many wineries and  breweries; there's never an excuse to drink anything but local! The quote "A weekend well spent brings a week of content" sums up my thoughts on weekends perfectly!

On to the outfit: I loooove versatile outfits like this because they require no thought. I've been really into quick and easy because I can't afford the time to put excess thought into anything, haha! This outfit is simple and perfect for doing anything from running errands to getting a quick bite to eat. It literally requires only three things: the romper, bag, and sandals! Perfect!
